An interesting game for sure. My first 'Pure' game, and a gunboat to boot. I agree that it's a different kind of strategy, although large parts of it are also a crapshoot. I was Turkey, so initially I was trying to 'Juggernaut' by supporting Russia, but he didn't reciprocate.
It was interesting that none of us tried to move into Austria's vacant centre in the autumn turn after his first successful attack. Russia and I tried to support an attack, but nobody moved in. After that Austria was coming for me, so I stole Paris to stay alive, and Austria ended up with three units. A steal back on Constantinople using the 'Autumn move' principle once again gave me a second unit.
From there it was a matter of keeping Austria from four, so I double-supported you to Berlin. I almost supported myself to hold with one of my units instead, which would have doomed us to failure, so I'm glad I didn't go that route. It would have been the wimpier way anyways. As for the draw I still felt Austria had the advantage on us even though we had move units combined, and there's only so much bouncing around a 'Pure' board you can do in one game. A fun challenge, with some good guessing at the end.
