20 Dec 12 UTC | Spring, 1901: You can't have a full-scale practice with Germany in a 1v1 game actually ... But at least this gives you some space to look into different opening moves ~ Still, the key to play as Germany can be summed up as this: work with Austria. There are good statistics to show that in most of the Germany solos, Austria survived as 2nd or 3rd place, and vice versa for Austria solos |
20 Dec 12 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Aha Never crossed my mind haha |
20 Dec 12 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Still, this is not an effective way to practice because in 1v1 games all openings are directed, either directly or indirectly, against the opponent ... You'll definitely not open to Silesia in a normal game ... |
20 Dec 12 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Cuz Austria is there? |
20 Dec 12 UTC | Spring, 1902: No, because there are two (normal) purposes of opening to Silesia: a) To flank Warsaw b) To defend against a potential Russian attack but ... For a), to literally flank Warsaw you should be moving Mun-Sil and Ber-Pru. Still, an early attack on Russia won't be successful since Russia can simply order Mos S Ukr-War to bounce you, for sure. For b), a wise Russia will definitely not move into Silesia for the certain result of NOT getting any German centre (because a normal Germany will definitely cover them) at the risk of leaving its South open to Turkish attack - you see, the famous Black Sea and Armenia clamp. So, for either causes Silesia is a bad move. It will only leave both you and Russia entangled in a prolonged war with your neighbours picking up all good bits around you. |
22 Dec 12 UTC | Autumn, 1903: Why are you supporting Munich when there is only one Italian army adjacent to it ... ? You should have supported Vienna instead, because if I cut the Galician support with Budapest and then hit Vienna with Tyrolia and Trieste, it would have fallen. |
