06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: WTF? This is my 6th F v A and my 6th role as Austria |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: anyway GL |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: yeah they are wacky like that i find. syou'll get 6 frances in a row next |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1901: That the idea, France is rigged in this game, so I keep playing them to balance out |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1901: what do you mean France is rigged? |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1902: I have looked at about 15 F v As. Of them, 9 of them France moved to London in the first go, and lost them all. Of the other 7, France moved to Spain in the first go, and won 6 of them. Everyone who knows France needs a presence in the Med wins and there is nothing Austria can do to stop it |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1902: I'm not sure its entirely rigged. I mean, there would still be a battle at Munich/Berlin and the Italian boot. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1902: Not really, Munich always falls to Italy right after they take Kiel. We had this discussion in the live game thread, in which you refused to admit France was better on the basis that Austria had better stats in the stats page. But the other 3 there who had played at least 2 FvA agreed that France was rigged. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1903: I'm not sure that was me in that discussion. I think France is advantaged but not rigged. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1903: anyway, I am trying a new unconventional strategy that might work. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1903: Then it was Raapers in the discussion... |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1903: That would make sense. I have played this variant a lot. I have done better with france. i have won with austria as well. and lost with france. it all depends on how startegies align i think. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1903: Well, it is almost impossible to beat France once he has control of the med. You clearly know that which is why you already have such a strong naval presence down there... |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1904: I agree with this. But I really think there are two main points of conention here, the area around tunis and the three itlaian centres but also munich and berlin. In order for austria to win i think they need to stop france at tunis and hold ber and mun |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1904: Which is much harder then you make it sound. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: The reason Austria has a massive disadvantage is he can only build 1 fleet per turn, while France can Build 2. it means Austria has to choose between taking Germany (which I did in this case) or defending Italy (which of the 4 times I have done this, I lost all 3), the time I tried to do both I lost on both fronts. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: yes I realize it's tough. but i don't think there is a sequence of moves for france that are unbeatable. |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: nice moves there |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: There are 2 sequences that President Eden used that are unbeatable. He was extremely cautious and he said he from 1903 on he said there was no way I could win. And every support he did from then on, I couldn't counter. And he won 18-16 in 1924 |
06 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 1905: But I think there could have been a way to defeat it if you had done things differently in 01/02, no? Can I see that link? |
