22 Jun 11 UTC | Spring, 1904: Putting in draw/cancel if England CDes... |
23 Jun 11 UTC | Spring, 1904: I will be going away tomorrow on a work trip and will return on Sunday night. I will have no access to internet whatsoever whee I am going so I will be unable to log in any moves. If we can please pause this game until Sunday night it would be awesome. Thanks. |
23 Jun 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: vote pause then |
23 Jun 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: Thanks, I will vote just before going away so we can keep playing meanwhile. |
24 Jun 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: (fasces349): I paused the game for guak |
24 Jun 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: Thanks, fasces. It looked like myrmidon was going to NMR anyway so that really saved the game. |
24 Jun 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: good thing you all paused, car crash yesterday and I wasnt able to get on |
27 Jun 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: Back now, thanks for the pause |
03 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: Hey guys, let's be honest with ourselves here... Are we really doing anything at this point? We're locked in a 2v2 and I really don't see us getting out anytime soon. I'm 99% sure Turkey and I are stalemated as I don't have the fleets to break into the Ionian and and he doesn't have the right units in the right place to break through anywhere before I get a perfect line set up. And it seems like aside from Norway and Sweden changing hands about 50 million times there hasn't been any movement up in the north. Russia won the battle for Germany but we've got him walled off after Kiel... And a stab by either side would be tantamount to suicide, because the stab victim would inevitably disband away from the enemy alliance and bring the stabber down with 'em. So while we're not at an actual tactical stalemate, we've been at a strategic and diplomatic stalemate for years and there's not any movement. Want to just draw this thing up? |
03 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: I would rather wait for the stalemate line to be defined. The way I see it, turkey can still leak a fleet or two to the west which would break the stalemate. |
03 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: while France seems right, how do you plan to defend three places with two units? |
03 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: How do you plan to attack three places with one? |
03 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: it will be a bit of luck I guess, but it is still possible so we should keep playing |
03 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: It's not, though. I can already tell you exactly what I intend to do, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. I'm building F Mar and moving Rom -> TYS -> Tun, Tus -> Rom, ADS -> Apu, Mar -> GoL. Only thing Turkey can try for is Naples and if he gets in I am 100% certain of taking it back in the fall and getting my stalemate line. We'll play it out if you don't believe me, but if you do then we don't need to waste our time. Meanwhile the north is curious. Are we agreed that while not the actual tactical stalemate it could be up north, that it's not going to move? |
03 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: I would like to play the north out as well. Not entirely sure of what is going on there. Could be as you say, but with the right moves, stalemate can be broken |
04 Jul 11 UTC | Autumn, 1906: Valid. Carry on. |
04 Jul 11 UTC | the south is now certainly at a stale mate. The north still not so. But it could be years before it is broken. I'll let you guys decide if you want to go on |
