25 Jun 19 UTC Good game, everybody. That was fun.
25 Jun 19 UTC Great game! What a game, all. I really struggled at the beginning to execute my plan with a tough French position on this map, but by the end of the game I finally got there.
25 Jun 19 UTC And I threw in some fun convoys to Archangelsk
25 Jun 19 UTC Great game everyone. Shout out to Italy for not killing me off. I was able to create a stalemate line with Japan and France, but not him.
25 Jun 19 UTC Wow I thought for sure I was gonna die. I'd once had high hopes of soloing for a while. Then Italy attacked. And then France attacked, which I really hadn't expected. I'd been banking on France attacking Italy.
25 Jun 19 UTC Hello everyone, thanks for the interesting game. In the end, I would have liked to take Russia out, but I did not want to give Japan to either Omsk or Orenburg. Regarding Holland, I have also thought about attacking it for a long time (I could easily have taken Maldives and Betchuanaland), but I think it would be wiser to use Holland as a shield against Japan. Thanks for the nice game.
25 Jun 19 UTC Italy, yes leaving Holland alone was a wise move. I was hoping to break through to Africa for a while but as long as the two of you were supporting each other it was impossible.

And Russia, I also would have liked to have knocked you out for a few extra points...so much so that in the last turn I tried supporting Italy into Orenburg, to no avail. But I appreciated our early alliance, and I believe it served both of us well while it lasted. I too eventually saw the possibility of a Russia solo and became concerned it would grow beyond my control if I didn't act quickly. In the end you defended yourself well against a flurry of attackers, so in my view you earned your share of the draw.

Holland, you also earned your share of the draw. You definitely brought my progress to a halt in Indonesia for quite a while, and also earned some good will by refocusing on Africa at an opportune time.

And France, I wish we could have had more of an opportunity to cooperate or fight each other. But Italy did too good a job of keeping us separated. Nevertheless, good job on dominating your side of the board.

I hope to see y'all in future games, where perhaps some scores can be settled!
25 Jun 19 UTC Yes thank you Japan! I was no doubt aided by England semi/capitulating.
26 Jun 19 UTC Indeed, the timing of England's departure helped me quite a bit too. I enjoyed most of the benefit in the east, though Italy beat me to some of the centers before I could gobble them all up.

I sort of regret my decision to push north instead of west when I first arrived in India. I may have been able to move the stalemate line westward if I'd put more resources into it early enough. But my mind was focused on the possibility of working alongside Italy to take out the Dutch while my other units took out eastern Russia. And my fleets were also a step behind Italy's - it's hard to make progress in India without controlling Bay of Bengal.

I can't help but wonder if taking a few more risks at that point would've given me a better shot at the solo. Probably not, but I'll continue to wonder about it.
26 Jun 19 UTC Good game, y'all. I am disappointed in you, Japan.
26 Jun 19 UTC Good game China. I'm sorry I had to eliminate you so thoroughly.
26 Jun 19 UTC I thought for sure I had you on the ropes immediately China, since I blitzed you pretty hard and fast. Your defensive game was pretty damned good. You certainly successfully prevented me from snowballing.
26 Jun 19 UTC You did, Russia. And thanks for your compliment. You and Japan got me good.
26 Jun 19 UTC I thought I might be able to solo for a while, but Holland & Italy each impressively rallied for a quick stalemate when I attacked and thought I could get through.
