02 Jan 20 UTC Spring, 1901: Greetings and happy new year everyone!
Good luck and have fun!
07 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: GameMaster: Austria voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Concede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat.
20 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1909: GameMaster: France voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
01 Jul 20 UTC Good game, Turkey. Sorry it ended like that.

My draw vote is up. And has been.
01 Jul 20 UTC Good game, everyone! Thanks for the cooperation, England and France. This is one of the first times I've ever seen an England-Germany-France alliance succeed.
01 Jul 20 UTC It's not like I didn't try to make it fail :D

@Germany France didn't betray us in the end, I did. But I wasn't in a position to get 6 more centers. I had little hope I could Blitz to 14 or 15 and then get another three or four through sheer force of numbers, but that wasn't really doable.
01 Jul 20 UTC GG everyone
01 Jul 20 UTC That was really well played by England. Germany was absolutely convinced that I was the one going for the solo. If there were hidden draw votes and England could have kept up the facade that I was the danger... I think he could have done it.
01 Jul 20 UTC Even as it stands, the English army in MAO entering Western Med would have been problematic for me.
01 Jul 20 UTC I'm reviewing the last few years. Part of me wishes we had dealt with that rogue Turkish fleet. I didn't realize it put France out of position in a number of turns. But France, you attacking Bulgaria near the end there wasn't wise.
And England, I figured you too were trying to steal a SC or two by convoying over an army to Norway.
01 Jul 20 UTC In any case, it was a fun game. I like the FOW mechanic.
01 Jul 20 UTC I had fun there, despite knowing I was going to lose for quite a while!
Well played, all in the Western Triple. I was hoping that the alliance would fall apart at some point, but all my attempts to sow confusion or discontent failed in the end. I'm impressed by the teamwork!
01 Jul 20 UTC Well, I can only reiterate, I hadn't really planned on the alliance surviving that long. :D
But with the southern territories so far stretched out, I couldn't really attack anywhere without losing at least as much ground as I had to gain. For the last 6 or 7 years I have spend more time looking for an option to betray the alliance and solo than thinking about how to eliminate Austria and Turkey. Maybe a better player would have managed, but I don't feel like I every missed a big opportunity. And I think the same goes for Germany and France. I'd say we can all be happy with the draw.
02 Jul 20 UTC Well, I probably could have solo'd, and maybe I should have tried, but for a while there, I had a lot of troops on your border, England.
02 Jul 20 UTC Rightly or wrongly, from the beginning, I never felt like I was as close to either England or Germany than they were to each other. The initial negotiations really didn't feel like they were going my way.
02 Jul 20 UTC @Germany Yeah, I was kinda nervous for a while, but I think, with France's help I could have been able to hold that off.

@France I'm not sure. I just think that due to Germany's central position, talking to him was more central to the strategy. At least for me. Maybe due to the fact, that you mainly fought in the Mediterranean while Germany and I worked together against Russia, we talked more. But I don't think, I ever felt, like the alliance was overly asymmetric. I was only a little more suspicious of you than Germany, because I thought you were closer to the solo (I thought you held Trieste and had greater potential of taking centers in Turkey, before I got there). And in the end I stabbed you first, simply because you were at the front, where I was able to a) build new troops faster and b) use my navy. It was kinda nice to know, that you had fleets in Brest and MAO, so you where very much impeded in your ability to launch a naval invasion on my home island.
02 Jul 20 UTC @England I felt like we were working great during the middle game. The only part of my suspicions were in the beginning, it felt like I was (reasonably) giving up slightly more than I preferred to.

Ultimately, I liked Italy. I don't remember exactly why I chose to go after him and not England. I think he was just super open.

If Turkey would have had a little more powerful of a position, I think I could have made something happen towards the end. I thought about trying to orchestrate a situation where I attacked one and didn't let the other know, which England completely pulled off in a beautiful illustration of the benefit of the FoW dynamic so, big kudos to them.

I'd love to see FoW on one of the giant maps. I think that would be fun, but maybe overwhelming.
02 Jul 20 UTC Also, I didn't really expect to see that Germany had as much as they did. When I saw that England was in Ankara, I figured they had to have about 1/2 the map.
02 Jul 20 UTC The benefit I had was that I could see each of your borders, while you were both mostly blind to the other. Thus, I knew I had to be a moderator.

I also knew that if I wasn't trusted, both of you would quickly collapse on me, and I would be toast. I couldn't fight a two-front war. So I hope I played my part well. :)
02 Jul 20 UTC @France Thanks :)
Concerning owning half of the map, that was basically my problem.I had an extremely long boarder that I would have had a lot of trouble defending.

Also I feel like FoW would be a catastrophy on larger maps, but I'm generally not a big fan of those anyway, so maybe don't let that influence you ;)

Yeah, Germany. You did quite a good job of keeping the alliance stable.
And I fear, I also did too good a job. I was really hesitant to set up the double bounce with France in the Channel, but in my experience with FoW (which I have to admit isn't too extensive), England is always at a really great threat of France launching a sneaky naval invasion.
