01 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1862: [USA]:There are 2 types of nations in this variant --- Global and Regional powers. Global powers are deceptively strong---large center counts, but they are actually outmatched in every region they operates in by a regional power. Should a regional power decide to take them out, there's often very little they can do at the start without good allies. Regional powers are smaller, but have a highly concentrated center count which gives them a numbers advantage in a local area.

I would say that a global power is probably much stronger if you have good diplomacy, but is very weak if you have bad diplomacy, whereas a regional power can get away with bad diplomacy as long as they play tactically correct, smaller chance they get dogpiled on immediately + more units to work with in a given areaa.

02 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1862: [USA]:yeah CSA is heavily reliant on getting Britain on side, but if they can't, then they get cleaned up quickly. Here it happened much faster since Mexico and I were working together, but realistically CSA would have maanged only 1-2 years longer even if it had been 1 v 1.

That's not a good indication of a country's strength and given the low number of games played, is very prone to deviations (eg a really good player winning with Mexico doesn't somehow make Mexico an easier nation than Japan for example). Law of large numbers doesn't kick in yet too
