22 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Looking forward to a fun game! I've always loved public chat only games, better than gunboat in my opinion
22 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Same here!
22 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Agreed
22 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Waiting for two players right now
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Hello! 1 player left now
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Hey Peru, I won't fight you on Ecuador, but after, can you move the army away?
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: That's asking for a stab
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Fair proposition, but Peru should be affirmed by me only moving my troops away from him, and they can easily counter a 1 dot stab by me with even troops in Lima and Arequipa as soon as i move into Mag or COr, so were I him, I would take my deal
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: @Brazil, @Argentina, @Perú: Should we talk about how to divide up neutral SCs? It feels like Paraguay might get contested

Specifically @Perú: I won't fight for La Paz, as I feel like we can achieve greater things by cooperating than fighting. The only thing I ask of you is that you don't move your Lima fleet to Bahía de Arica, as those waters touch my coasts and would be too aggressive for me to feel comfortable. If you agree, I would be happy to help you out with whatever you need

@Argentina: I'm a similar way, I hope we can avoid confrontation, at least at the beginning of the game. Let us be good neighbors
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: So @Peru, knowing your two neighbours are ready to support you, and you have two uncontested centres in Ecuador and La Paz, would you attack Brazil? I would like to gain Costa Rica this Spring, as Caracas may be difficult.

@Chile look forward to talking! Lets make Southeast Pacific DMZed because I'd feel uncomfortable with a fleet ready to attack me and Peru up there

@Argentina ensure Paraguay and Uruguay are in your hands by the end of this year. Brazil will be split between northern and southern forces and thus will be an easy target

@Brazil sorry
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Hey Chile! Hello! Sorry for the wait, work got a little complicated today! I’d love to set up some sort of DMZ, I think Gran Choco, Pampas, and Patagonia are great spaces to keep away from for this first turn while we get our bearings straight.

Colombia, thanks for the warning on Brasil... but I’ll try to make my own goals! That being said, I’d love to aim for Uruguay and Paraguay. Is there any contest there Brasil? I feel like Guyana and Caracas is more of a guarantee for you and we can set up a DMZ down here too while we wait to hear from Peru, etc.
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: @Argentina: The DMZs sound good! I guess the only problem there is that my army in Santiago would get pretty stucked. Would you perhaps be willing to support me into Paraguay? It's OK if you don't, but that way I would be able to move my armies through my northern border and get to the action without having to pass through those zones that we want to demilitaraze
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: @Colombia: I'm not planning on moving into SEP any time soon, don't worry. Unless @Perú really convinces me :P
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: @Chile: That might be a non-starter. You can bounce Peru at your island SC and take Potosi and Atacama before builds... which could help you take La Paz afterwards. The way I see it, that is a natural northern move for you and moving east into Paraguay essentially cuts me off and ensures you two SC grows just to moves from my home SC. Overextending that unit in Santiago will also leave Peru’s fleet in Lima to take Antafogasta.

Maybe I let you take Paraguay from me in the future as a show of good faith, but geographically that looks pretty threatening to me.
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: I mean, I already promised Perú to not fight for La Paz if he moved Lima anywhere but Bahía de Arica. But I see what you mean, and I respect it. If Perú doesn't answer, or if he ignores my petition, that does sound like the way to go, so let us keep the DMZs and see what happens :)
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: @Argentina and @Brazil, not to intrude, but Caracas is not guaranteed. @Brazil, being honest with you, I'm not looking for Manaus or Belem, but I'd just like Caracas, Guyana and Costa Rica before I can make an authoritative decision.
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Sorry I forgot to say that Paraguay could be guaranteed for Brazil, though it probably wont be
23 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Chile, I understand where you're coming from. I'll think about helping you into Paraguay... it is just difficult to think several moves ahead without first knowing who is doing what.
24 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: I think I'll do better with either one between Paraguay and Uruguay
24 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 2000: Guyana is my only guaranteed center

Bordering all four of you guys, only having three centers to start with is a horrible deal
