23 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: Can we all agree that screenshot sharing is illegal?
23 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: Yes. Why are you asking?
23 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: I didn't even know we could send each other screenshots, but yea I agree
23 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: I didn't even know it was possible. I guess someone could put it somewhere and provide the URL. I would not do it, and whether or not the moderators would consider it a violation of the rules, they would see the messaging as well. I think it crosses the line into the same territory as revealing your identity in anonymous game (which I believe is illegal.) Frankly if someone shared one with me I would also take it with a grain of salt because it could easily be altered. I have heard of that happening in fog of war games before, though never experienced it.
23 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: That's 4 of us so far out of seven who have weighed in against it. I would say if anyone does it we should agree to reveal it and ally against them.
23 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: Not reveal the image - just the fact someone did it. Though I guess that gets into the problem now of false accusation. So perhaps it is thtat we should all agree to personally not ally with anyone who does it.
24 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: Whether It’s technically illegal or not, we can (and should) agree amongst ourselves whether we deem screen-shot sharing illegal for purposes of our game. Which we can do, if we all agree. And if we don’t all agree, then as Germany said, if one of us should refuse to agree (or choose to remain silent on the issue) and then engage in screen-shot sharing, the rest of us can jointly agree to take whatever actions in the game we feel are appropriate in response. So later no one can say the matter wasn’t decided fairly, or they weren’t given the chance to discuss it up front. It was, and you were.

I was unaware that one can share screen shots via the only channels of communication that are permitted in playing this game, which I understood are solely the chat channels on the home page of our specific game. No other form of communication (or revealing your identity, as this is an anonymous game) is permitted.

My own view is that screen-shot sharing is NOT in keeping with the spirit either of the essence of Dip or fair competition. Also, as Germany said, anything can be faked/altered. So it’s not like it’s providing some pure, unadulterated gospel truth. What bothers me the most about it, is that it’s such intellectually lazy behavior. If it’s so difficult for you, or you’re such a poor writer that you can’t be bothered to try and catch someone in a lie by exerting any more effort than sharing a screen shot, shame on you: that’s not good enough. Also, it doesn’t make the game better — and that alone is reason enough to reject the idea.

If you disagree and feel that screen-shot sharing should be allowed, your chance to speak publicly and discuss the matter is right now. Otherwise, we should declare it illegal and move the game forward.
24 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: I agree
24 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1899: I agree
24 Jan 22 UTC Autumn, 1899: I also agree
24 Jan 22 UTC Autumn, 1899: So we all agreed, cool :-)
25 Jan 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: France would like to publicly announce that Germany is in Burgundy.
25 Jan 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: I like wine.
27 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1901: Just a question, does the whole map for all of history get revealed went the game ends?
27 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1901: Yes, I believe so
28 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: France voted for a Cancel. If everyone votes Cancel all points will be refunded and the game will be deleted from the database.
28 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: France voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Concede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat.
30 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
31 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
31 Jan 22 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Someone has taken over France replacing "Bobit". Reconsider your alliances.
