10 Feb 22 UTC | gg I was able to take over Africa like I wanted but unfortunately England took control of North America, which is pretty much their wincon. |
10 Feb 22 UTC | GG, yeah North America was my main objective |
10 Feb 22 UTC | At the start I was worried that Spain and Portugal would team up against me since it looked like you were working together while I was busy attacking France, so I'm glad that didn't happen |
10 Feb 22 UTC | My objective initially was to team up with one of the powers that usually doesn't win this variant, and I chose Portugal based on common areas. As France crumbled, I was hoping Portugal would see the strength of our partnership are team against Britain. But Portugal made a different choice and chose to attack me next. Once that happened, a win for Britain, who wins the lion's share of games of this variant, was a done deal. I had not played this variant before, and doubt I will again. I think it is highly unbalanced and I also find the map very hard to read, particularly the subtle differences in the look of the fleets of the different powers. |
