02 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Singy): Didn't read the special rules until I joined, this bidding phase sounds very interesting!

Imagine we can't start negotiations until the game starts proper?
02 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Rookster): bidding phase is a bit dangerous - whatever you bid on, if you win, those are your home scs. The starting units you get are determined by scs... so you have to be careful or you'll get all armies.
02 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Singy): Or all navies, depends which is worse

I hope I can after that build armies and navies normally right?
02 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Rookster): in the SCs that you started with, yes
02 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Rookster): Navies are slightly more powerful on this map, there are only 2 landlocked scs over in the persia area.
02 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Singy): If I'm not the Persian played I'd be so tempted to troll whoever is by bidding all on Laodicoa
02 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Rookster): Yeah, I've seen Sparta frozen out of the Pelloponese before.
03 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Weggla III.): Seems to be an interesting variant!
03 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Singy): More then it does at first glance
03 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Singy): I joined without reading the varient rules so I'm pleasently surprised
03 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Weggla III.): Yes, it really seems like you have unique games even before anyone has moved an army
03 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Rookster): It's a fun one - the negotiations for SCs are always interesting... if you tell me exactly what you're picking you risk me outbidding you for spots... it you don't communicate at all you risk bouncing with people
03 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Singy): Yeah ideally everyone would want 5 home centers however some would rather screw over a rival
05 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (strategoi20): This bidding is conducted publicly then?
05 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (Singy): Normal Diplo rules apply I imagine. You can talk in global or open press with any player however you never know if people will actually follow their word
05 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (strategoi20): Awesome!
05 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: (strategoi20): We are all gentlemen here so I know we will all abide by the love for our fellow man.
06 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: Damn didn't think this would start so soon once people started leaving
06 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: It's online.!
06 Feb 22 UTC Bidding: Will admit I hoped for Macedon it's near to where I am but will not say no to the city of many names (or exonyms that is)
