21 May 22 UTC | Spring, 1938: gopher27 (Moderator): Greetings all, The Moderators of this site obviously welcome our new players, but we do take notice when a group of players seemingly join as a group and then crowd into early games together. We mainly do this because some unethical players will create multiple accounts to seek unethical advantage in games. Our tools tell us that that is not the case here. However, the Mods do notice that several players in this game joined in close proximity to each other and appear to live geographically close to each other. For that reason, I would just like to remind players of some rules on this site. The major things that we try to avoid is what we call "meta-gaming". This means that everything that defines this game needs to take place within this game. All diplomacy relevant to this game MUST take place within this game. That requires that all messaging between players related to this game needs to take place here in game either publicly or privately. Alliances and hostilities within this game need to be arrived at within the game. There is nothing wrong with friends playing together but forming natural alliances among your friends in a game with other players is self-evidently unfair. So if you are not going to backstab your friends with at least as much abandon as you would a stranger, playing together becomes ill-advised. Disclosing existing social relationships to the in game group is considered good form. Documenting your "real life groups" on your profiles under "RL-groups" is an expectation that we have for members. In some cases, we will ask such groups to only play together in password protected private games. So good luck and have fun. But I just wanted to let people know that the Mods do exist and that we are at least casually semi-watching. Best wishes, The Mod Team |
