18 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1501: Enriador (Gamedirector): Thanks for being here, everyone. Good luck and good game!
04 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1505: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Tondo replacing "derf1OO". Reconsider your alliances.
04 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1505: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Majapahit replacing "CBro27". Reconsider your alliances.
10 Mar 23 UTC Monsoon, 1506: GameMaster: Mughalistan voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
02 Apr 23 UTC Monsoon, 1513: Enriador (Gamedirector): New variant up for playtesting! Chesspolitik is a perfectly balanced mesh-up of two beloved board games.

16 Apr 23 UTC GG everyone... wow, three players with 2000+ points survived this game.
16 Apr 23 UTC I still feel that Ternate is extremely strong on this map.
16 Apr 23 UTC Yeah their corner position really gives them an advantage.
16 Apr 23 UTC Gg all
16 Apr 23 UTC Well I dont see how my elimination was necessary but gg
16 Apr 23 UTC GG everyone. I agree that Ternate seems like the strongest power-- even alone they easily overpowered all the other island powers.

I did quite enjoy how brutal this map is-- other players were constantly getting eliminated, and the stakes felt very high.

An interesting dynamic I noticed was that the India and Spice islands maps kinda did their own thing right up until the very end of the game. Me & Ayutthaya never really interacted at all (until the last two turns). I wonder if that is a common dynamic in other games on this map?
16 Apr 23 UTC I think it is common, and it's also a reason why Ternate is so strong. On the original Spice Island map, Malacca and Majapahit have the southwest corner, but on this map they have border disputes with Vijayanagar instead, that makes them weaker when fighting against Ternate.
16 Apr 23 UTC Gg!
16 Apr 23 UTC Oh gotcha, interesting.
16 Apr 23 UTC Enriador (Gamedirector): Thanks everyone for taking part in the playtest, it was a great watch.
