02 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1601: Exciting :)
02 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1601: Hmm, I've just realised how I'm not so good at chess...
03 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1601: How am I named as Ottomans
03 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1601: Hello everyone! This variant seems fun, I wish you all a good start!
03 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1601: By the way, the name of yellow country should be Qing Dynasty instead of Ming. Ming fell too early, and never expanded into central Asia.
03 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1601: Enriador (Gamedirector): The variant starts in 1601, so isn't Ming more accurate? Good point on Central Asia, I think the author was selected powers in an abstract way - the Ottomans weren't in Central Asia either, and the Russians only went there over two centuries after the starting year.
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: Oh well I didn't notice it is 1601. Then Ming is correct.
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: Curious why Mughal didn’t retreat to E3.
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: There's no retreats in this variant?
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: Wanted another knight?
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: Speaking of which... is the knight a fleet or an army?
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: fleet
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: Enriador (Gamedirector): The start date is Spring 1601 and 17 supply centers are required for victory.

Rules:

1 - There are two types of units: Kings (K), also referred as armies, and Knights (N), also referred as fleets.
2- Each type of unit moves and supports according to the adjacency they would have in chess.
3 - Players may build in any SC that they own.
4- No retreats: all dislodged units are taken off the board.
5 - No convoys.
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: I can't really imagine what "convoy" means on this map.
04 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: Possibly a king moving like a knight, but that'd be against chess rules of course.
05 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1602: Enriador (Gamedirector): Convoy, in Diplomacy, means an army moving across sea spaces as long as the fleets on these sea spaces allow it.

For this variant, convoys are non-existent, simply.
05 Apr 23 UTC Spring, 1602: Enriador (Gamedirector): If anybody wants another go:

10 Apr 23 UTC Autumn, 1603: Enriador (Gamedirector): Thanks to tobi1, there should be two changes to the variant:

1) Armies are called kings (official abbreviation: "K"), and fleets are called knights ("N").

2) Powers can build in any owned supply center alongside their first two rows. So for example the Chinese could build anywhere between H8 and H2, or between G7 and G1.

If something doesn't work let me know by PM, but don't despair. It is possible only the next build phase will have the changes.
13 Apr 23 UTC Alright. Not sure why blue and green both are zealots in fighting me, but that's a common case in 4p games.
13 Apr 23 UTC Yah, blue and green both have me the win pretty much. Maybe they both mutually dislike the colour red?
