17 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: GameMaster: Please remember that negotiations before the game begins are not allowed.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: Info: This is a choose your country game.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: Hello everyone! Good luck!
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: Russia, far too often you get mired in Turkey making little progress. Same to France in Spain. Let’s avoid these historic quarrels, friends, and join together to crush the fascist powers before they get any evil ideas!
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: Our British generals have drafted the following war plan.

GOAL 1: stifle the growth of the German fleet
BRITAIN secures Skagerrak and the Netherlands to blockade Kiel
SOVIET UNION occupies the Baltic states to threaten Prussia and keep the Koenigsberg fleet out of action
FRANCE plays for Belgium via the English Channel to bolster the Dutch defence

GOAL 2: dominate the Mediterranean Sea
BRITAIN pushes across North Africa to obtain strategic bases for the Royal Navy with land support through the Sahara
FRANCE expands its Algerian colony with help of the Gibraltar detachment while prioritizing new fleets in Provence
SOVIET UNION moves directly for the Aegean, seizing the Dardanelles from Turkey and driving through the Balkans

GOAL 3: prevent the central powers from acquiring any more territory by getting there first!
BRITAiN moves on Italy through two fronts, one via Gibraltar and the other through Libya. No detours through Iberia or the Middle East.
SOVIET UNION has the most important job of scrambling to gather up the lands of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
FRANCE strikes at the enemy’s homelands by attacking through the Swiss alps and the Low Countries. They will endeavor to capture German and Italian provinces and pull them back from the British and Soviet fronts.

Copies of the exact movements will be forwarded to the commands in the Soviet Union and France, of course.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: Counter offer,
GERMANY

Wanna go for 2way draw? ;)
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: The Molotov-Ribbentrop is not a good idea. Trust me in this.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: And yet it can work :D
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: Wait, is it WW2 roleplay or we're still playing diplomacy? And greetings and best luck for everyone!

@England

Your plan sounds cool. The only problem is that, any three powers can team up against the two and come up with something similar, and they don't have to be the trio you picked. Also I'll leave Tobruk for you.

@France

I'd like a bounce in Tunis and no bounce for Code d'Azur. Plz don't move to Code d'Azur if you're moving for Barcelona. Or you wanna move Algiers to Morocco first? Also I'm moving for Switzerland.

@Germany

Do you prefer a bounce in Salzburg first or no bounce? And we can keep Inn a DMZ.

@USSR

Plz let me know how I can help when we get closer. Btw just one center is enough to ruin a 2way so plz don't.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: USSR: I’d love to cooperate ;) DMZ across Brest-Litvosk, Lwow, Transylvania and Crai? I’m down to perpetually bounce in Lithuania.

FRANCE: I think it would be a waste of time to go full WWI and smash against each other on the western front forever. I won’t challenge you in Belgium and we can both concentrate elsewhere.

ITALY: Let’s bounce Salzburg- I think that’s only fair. Happy to keep Innsbruck as a DMZ. Let me know if there’s any other ways I can help you out <3

BRITAIN: Prepare for Operation Sea Lion.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: @Germany, roger. Changed my orders for the bounce.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: @GERMANY I prefer taking CS and then leaving it empty perpetually afterward, not to waste SC, thoughts?

@ITALY good point we might need a 3rd, if @GERMANY Approves
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: France, are you there? Don’t listen to Germany, they’re just looking for an excuse to blitz you.

Fair point, Italy. There’s just this little thing about the German communiques- apparently they are good friends with everyone but me. That mass of armies can’t all be wading through the North Sea. If they tell the Soviets they’d like to cooperate and they tell the French they’re concentrating elsewhere, what does that leave you? A heart? Seeing as you’re currently without a responsive ally I’m happy to give you the support you need in Libya and the Balkans.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: @Britain

Sorry about calling you England last time!

Yes they're friends with nearly everyone. Let's assume they're lying to one of us three, then who can be so sure that it's 100% me? The same problem: you can say exactly the same things to France and USSR, just changing the names. Your attempts to sow discord here have failed. At the same time, about 10% of this variant actually end up with a 4-way draw, and let's do not ignore the possibility that we four can pick you out and draw.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: That is by no means an equitable division… won’t you central powers get locked out?
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: Germany has easy DMZ agreements to make with the Soviets and France. In Austria and Hungary your forces will run up right against each other, surely that’s a natural point for conflict? You will notice that Germany did not bother to work out any splitting of territory further east of Vienna with you.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: @ITALY you see how much arguing you have to do with @Brits?

Let's just kick @Brits back to sea and 3way win the shit out of Europe.
19 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: @Germany, @USSR

The brits are talking no sense; this time they underestimated the riches in eastern Europe and Turkey, and they failed to notice that Germany didn't work out how to partition Britain with you or France at the same time. Do I or Germany need to explain why?

But even the brits can inspire thoughts. The idea of splitting the centers first can work somewhere, where there's no fight to be expected and everything can go according to the plans, like eastern Europe and Balkans. I expect to get Switzerland, Croatia, Serbia, Tir, Athens, maybe Tunis, and at least one of Salzburg and Hungary. How does this sound to you?

Also I'm looking forward to a 4-way now, with France. If the Germans don't like it or the French appear to be as annoying I'll reconsider it.

@France

I wanna cancel the bounce at Tunis to deny Britain Tobruk and Morocco, but still I'm moving to Tunis before I can hear your reply. Also may I take Tunis using Sardinia?
20 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: USSR: Sure, you’re welcome to take CS in that case. I’ll also be pushing toward Bratislava for the first year build.

ITALY: Glad you’re also looking to cooperate! Just to be clear, I’d love to grab Vienna and Hungary. I would prefer 1 of either Switzerland OR Salzburg, just so that my core at Munich can’t get encircled too easily. I’d be willing to bargain Hungary for either one of those. Everything south of those territories are up to you and the USSR to divvy up as far as I’m concerned.
20 Feb 24 UTC Spring, 1938: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
