06 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1866: Hey guys, do you all mind if we draw? Playing this map makes it clear that the USA is ridiculously overpowered, and I don't feel exactly comfortable winning like that. |
06 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1866: That's fine with me |
06 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1866: cmon spain... |
06 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1866: Would you look at that, the two countries who are losing are asking for a draw. Guys, you don't just draw every time you start to lose in a diplomacy game, it's just not the way the game is meant to be played |
06 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1866: You do realize the country that's winning is also asking for a draw Spain. |
06 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1866: Of course I do. I frankly think it's against the spirit of the game, and I want to keep playing. Confederacy, England, if you're really so concerned and sad, talk to each other, talk to Russia. This games far from over |
06 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1866: US, would you join me now please? |
06 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1866: At this point, I think it's clear that I'm going to win outright if I continue in my current path. Checking the stats, it appears that the US has a really significant advantage in this board, which sorta cheapens any victory (and for me personally, defuses my enthusiasm for playing this variant). If I win, I'd like for it to be on my own merit! |
09 Mar 12 UTC | Boo hoo hoo, I didn't get to win... jeez guys, Diplomacy obviously won't treat you all well in the future |
