Classic Redrawn
I got bothered with some of the historical inaccuracies of the Classic map - like French Corsica being painted Italian green - so I went on and redrawed the entire map.

Territory Diagram
I wonder why VDip is not using Territory Diagram to reveal the dinamics of territory occupation in time. Now it's working rather good. But for maps with neutrals it still has several bugs. We use this module on Diplomail. Please check: https://ibb.co/mFZF3o

'Edwardian' - A new variant
Greetings diplomats.

I present you @VaeVictis's 'Edwardian' - an upcoming jewel to vDiplomacy's glorious crown. 'Edwardian' is set in 1901, the start of the Edwardian Era, and represents the intrigue and tension of the period with a level of elegance and detail never seen before

Known World 901 question re rebuilt armies
The variant page says that "This map is build anywhere and has neutral standing armies that disband when dislodged, but will be rebuild if the relevant Home Supply Center is vacant and unowned during the build-phase in autumn." but looking at completed games, I don't see the standing armies getting rebuilt. Does this mean I need to always occupy my own SCs in the fall or else they turn back into neutral standing armies? Can someone explain this to me?

1898 - Civilization in Diplomacy
Variant "1898" by Randy Davis is very cool. One unit for each power at the start on the classic board.
It's already avaliable to play... but...

Mistake in Known World 901 variant
In "Known World 901" we have Principality of Kiev (short - Russia). But it's a mistake which I have fixed when I did the php-adaptation to Western Known World 901 variant. The power must be called as Kievan Rus (short - Rus). It's not Russia at all. So it must be also fixed in Known World 901 variant I think.

Are we that certain that we cannot get 15 reliable and engaged players... I have shied away from being an elitist snob for years here, but it seems that the only way to get serious games is to invite top tier veteran players, filling in any gaps with proven up and coming players willing to stake their reputation on committing to this game.

Yes, What is the Forbes 100 list for "Most Reliable vDip Players"?

Thank you Leif. Caerus, your sarcasm is both recognized and appreciated. At the same time it's sad reality that VDip has come to that. For what it's worth you gave a good effort in your first Bourse attempts, even after getting the Ceasar in the Senate treatment. To answer your question though I think that reliability is ultimately a reputation that you earn over time by playing out games gone terrible, and by participating even when you have no chance to win.
Ruff knows from our first Bourse together that being down to a couple SCs is not the end. Sometimes it's just the beginning for a good diplomat. He and I battled left and right with him naturally getting the upper hand, then I convinced him I could be a good vassal and ally and he used me as a VP farm. I grew and made it into the top 10 somewhere and he co-won the game.

As far as desperate games finishing out, I have come back from a 2 SC nation to solo before. You aren't out until you have no SCs and are forced to disband your last unit.

^This is what I feel far too many people are not getting about Diplomacy. I've found that my most enjoyable and memorable games have been ones where adversity has been overcome and either a comeback is mounted, or some sort of vengeance is earned against an offending party. Diplomacy is not just about winning (ok ok, it *is* all about the solo, but you know what I mean), but about the experience of the game. It's a rare game in which your opponent can be 10x your size and you could mount a comeback if you play your cards right. Diplomacy is amazing like that!

Ruff, I appreciate the compliment, but I know that I was one of the problems in the original Bourse game, and I know Bourse is not for me. As a rule, I don't take games that are less than 48 hours phases, because I know that I am slow to act and lead a busy real life, and massive games need something even longer for me, but the idea of the bourse is so intriguing, intricate and innovative, I'd need a phase length of month to be able to play the way I'd like.

I actually never apologized for NMRing in the original game, which I feel I should. I learned my lesson: Bourse is too big of a bite for me to chew and I let you all down because of it. I plan to work hard to rebuild the the damage left by that behavior and happily watch the borse game from a far.
So, Ruff, how many nations would you consider the smallest sample to still have a good Bourse game?
Caerus, I built a spreadsheet that will tell you the best buy each turn and let you play "what if" before doing your Bourse orders if that will help.
So much convo on other subjects (forum is getting lively and that is awesome) that this was falling down again.

So how 'bout it? What would you consider the minimum nations for a lively Bourse?

Latest update is that we have 9 interested now, potentially another 4 if we defer start for 4 weeks, and a few more interested if we change the map.

Anybody object to World Diplomacy IX (17 players) or Imperial II (13 players) as alternate maps?

Four new variants, based on Classic, will be coming to vDip!

Some of these were directly taken from the DP Judge. Others were lost in the Variant Bank for a long while.

Anonymous Games
Anonymous Games grant liars a shelter to do there worst, making abusive and absurd offered and generally making me passionately hate this game, which can lead to NMRs . Having to be out there means you have to have honor, and enables revenge. I have seen allies pitch in by hopping from one neutral territory to yhe next in the name of their promises. This site seems to be for the childish.

Replace PPSC with something rank-based?
I've put together a length proposal over on PlayDip to provide a rank-based scoring system for draws that's similar to the Carnage system used in several North American Dip tournaments today.

Looking for someone to take over my country (Not in a bad position)
Currently 13/35 countries remain and my country, Brazil, is in 8th place after some set backs with NMRs. Currently allied with the 2nd place country, Argentina, as a fight between the two of us will ultimately be the doom of our existence. Argentina has said that a substitute will not charge the alliance between our two countries.

Reply if interested in taking over.
