22 Jan 16 UTC Bidding: (Mikey99): Almost there.... just one more.
22 Jan 16 UTC Bidding: (LovelyPinkEgg): Please...
30 Jan 16 UTC Autumn, 1547 BC.: General Notice - the sea formally known at the Aegean Sea is now to be referred to as the Sea of Byzantium. Please correct this in your orders :-)
04 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1545 BC.: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Macedonia replacing "HittinThemDippers". Reconsider your alliances.
05 Feb 16 UTC Spring, 1544 BC.: GameMaster: Rhodes voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
06 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1544 BC.: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Macedonia replacing "samwu". Reconsider your alliances.
09 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1543 BC.: I missed my phase by seconds, doh!!!!!
09 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1543 BC.: My timing was off due to these short 18 hour phases.
09 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1543 BC.: I should have rushed Byzantium in the first phase, rather than waiting around for Persia to be destroyed.
09 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1543 BC.: I played this variant once before and as Sparta, I allied with Persia and we crushed all. Sadly for me it was a WTA game and he'd promised to draw, but didn't. It was an early game for me in vDip, so I learned about the pointlessness of long term alliances in WTA. I also saw how Persia beat all, hence my position in this game.

Sorry about that Rhodes, but all could see you were going to go down to Sparta/Athens. I held off, but when it was clear what was going to happen I moved to ensure they could not land on Asia Minor. Just like I held off attacking Macedonia, despite regular requests from Athens, until the original player had dropped out.
09 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1543 BC.: That's fine. I completely expected you to do that, I was just going to try and rally against Spartan fleets and maybe build up enough naval power to keep myself alive.
09 Feb 16 UTC Autumn, 1543 BC.: Fair enough and I understand. Had I believed you could have done that, I would have held off. But between Athens and Sparta, you would never have recovered, at least in my view. Had one of them been induced to change their position, I would have kept our agreement.
11 Feb 16 UTC Chomp, chomp, chomping away, heh, heh, heh!
11 Feb 16 UTC Que the Pac-Man sound...
12 Feb 16 UTC Thank you all for a good game, sorry to Persia, then Rhodes for attacking you. Thanks to Athens for good communications and an excellent effort in trying to turn things the other way. Congrats to Sparta for second spot.
12 Feb 16 UTC gg
12 Feb 16 UTC Hey Mike99... You was England on First Crusade-something like does this fleet make my butt look big and I was Russia... + lol map... It look like we both like same maps..
12 Feb 16 UTC Yes, and we're in another game now that I support you strongly in. Good ally huh? :-)

But in the last turn of this game, why didn't you talk to me? Co-ordinate support and attacks etc...
12 Feb 16 UTC Why I have to do it? My turns was clear and you don't have where support me.
12 Feb 16 UTC Ok. Up to you. I just think that communication and co-ordination between partners is important, for several reasons - it prevents accidental bounces and mistakes, it ensures that both see the tactical situation the same and it ensures that both partners continue to see their goals in an agreed & shared way.
