28 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 2151: What is the point with the orbits and such? |
28 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 2151: They allow for cool physics to happen. However I'm not sure how these ones work, as they are clearly geostationary (not moving relative to the surface), but they're at ~45° inclination, so not on the same inclination as Mars (25°) so they can't be geostationary. Unless... they have an average orbital speed the same as a 45° inclination on Mars and an elliptical orbit. That would allow it to be geostationary and inclined. But from a 45° orbit, you can go anywhere inside these lines: http://imgur.com/Un3IFzn Sorry for the bad drawing. |
