15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck. How would you like to conduct the teaching sessions?
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Should we both move, and I comment afterward? Or would you like to comment before the moves?
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: I figure make moves first, then have you comment on them afterwards.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Sounds good.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: I am at work, so I might be able to play fast.

For Austria, this is probably the best opening. Although, if France moves Marseilles to Piedmont, it can be problematic. But moving to Piedmont is very risky for France if Austria takes Venice right away. So sometimes I move my fleet to Venice just to keep France honest. If I do, Budapest usually heads to Warsaw.

Your opening is probably the safest, and probably how open most frequently. Although I am beginning to think it is best to move to English channel instead.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: I was debating Mar to Pie, but I've seen games that were just lost after TRI-VEN, so I didn't want to make that move.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: I did BRE to MID because I've only played this map once before, and I did BRE to ENG last time, so I wanted to switch things up.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Yes. It's very risky for France. But,if Austria moves the way I did, France would get an advantage.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: I am not as good at playing France as I am at playing Austria. So, I really can't say which way is better. But, I am starting to lean toward heading to ENG first.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1902: I was on the Fence about fleet vs army MAR. I think France has an advantage in that it can build more fleets than Austria and I wanted to start leveraging that as quickly as possible. I think the main downside is that you have no need to respect MAR to PIE now.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1902: The biggest disadvantage for you is that I now should have an easy time taking Germany. The key to 1v1 is to put pressure directly on your opponent. I will have an easier time putting pressure on you, and pick up some neutrals as the opportunity arises.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: It might have been better for you to let me into Piedmont. Now, I can get Rome, Warsaw for sure. You only get London for sure unless you let me have Munich. Keeping up on SC count is critical in 1v1. Now that I will have a 1 SC advantage, the game should slowly move in my favor.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: I didn't think about letting you get PIE. That felt super scary, but I didn't think about the fact that it would stop you from getting Rome.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1903: geeze I'm toast aren't I. I wanted to take MUN so I could retreat through your line, but even if that happens with the builds you get that won't accomplish anything. I also should have supported GoL into TYR. Even if you tried to take TUN, I could have taken it back, w/o you getting a center, or I could threaten ROME/NAP and still take TUN.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1903: It might have been better to support yourself into Tyrr. If I had taken Tunis, your fleet would have a chance at pushing into the stalemate line and take Naples. It also would have put pressure on Rome, so my army would not know what to do. Worst case scenerio, you support yourelf into Tunis and still get a SC.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I see you already realized that.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I wouldn't say you are toast, but I am in a stronger position.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: Nice move. I didn't think you would try it.
15 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: That was my hope :). Sadly I guessed wrong in the South again. I figured you'd try to keep me out of TYR expecting me to bounce you in ION.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1904: It looks like we are all even up now. It's anybody's game now.
