I started this and played the first two seasons without looking at the strategic impact of the river systems - utterly crass - down to a period (continuing) of poor health an multiple hospital appts etc. So really sorry guys. But the variant is an excellent one...

I really do love this variant. Of course it's been updated since we started this, with Spain now able to be eliminated. It'll be interesting to see how that changes things.

I must congratulate you mouse on the tactical defense you mounted. I thought I had you but you made a couple key moves that delayed me just let my enough for you to consolidate gains and then retake territory surrounding your home centers to be able to build.
