09 Oct 17 UTC | Autumn, 5: GameMaster: Carthage voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
09 Oct 17 UTC | Autumn, 5: Vote has started. |
10 Oct 17 UTC | Autumn, 5: I'm open to that after we eliminate Egypt. |
10 Oct 17 UTC | Autumn, 5: Okay |
18 Oct 17 UTC | Spring, 6: Can we just draw now? |
18 Oct 17 UTC | Spring, 6: Considering the fact that Persia has left |
18 Oct 17 UTC | Spring, 6: GameMaster: Mikey99 has taken over Persia replacing "neeraj0588". Reconsider your alliances. |
18 Oct 17 UTC | Spring, 6: Greetings from the new Persian leader. Apologies for my late uncle, he tragically died recently while drunk and falling into his soup - 3 times. I assure that under my leadership, Persia shall be more vigilant on our borders. |
22 Oct 17 UTC | Ok, so message in from Rome saying he perhaps would not be able to push for a win and has issued the draw. If I'd started in this game, I'd want to press a little longer but as I've just joined and you're both starting players, I'll respect and have drawn also. Thank you. |
22 Oct 17 UTC | I'd love a little post-mortem. Would either of you think you could solo from my spot? Sardinia falls and I keep Carthage pinned, and play chase on his Vind units from Ven. So that's +1 and probably fairly stable. I may or may not be able to round that army on to Africa to actually help there. I think I lose ground in the short run to Persia, but can solid that line up. It just isn't clear that I can progress. It is reasonable to assume that with both of you working against me as I'm near solo, a draw feels like a good outcome. What would you have done in my spot? Also, h/t to Carthage for a game very well-played throughout. He was a superb ally and as the outcome shows, managed to pursue common goals ardently without losing sufficient defense that he was vulnerable to a decisive stab. Well done! Persia, we knew each other only briefly, though I think that I've seen your name before. I hope we get a substantial game with each other. In fact... if the two of you would like to start a new Ancient Med, I'm up for it. (Or another map, if you prefer.) |
22 Oct 17 UTC | To be honest, I'd have liked this game to run a turn or two longer, but I didn't want to hold you both to that as I just started. Yes, we were working together to stop you, that was obvious when you needed only two to win. I would have retaken Sinope, then likely Byz and then I think I would have put a credible threat into Sparta/Athens/Mace - especially with the Carthage army now behind your lines. My take-over position wasn't great, perhaps an army light and fleet too many. If the game had run for longer, having seen Rome drop 3-4+ maybe I'd have fancied a long term run at the win myself, but likely it'd always be a 2v1 scenario. Yes, we've met before Yoak. I remember it well, I'm surprised you do not. |
22 Oct 17 UTC | Oh, wow. You were Germany in that horrible, horrible game. I'm glad to play with you again and to have it go smoothly. |
22 Oct 17 UTC | Yeah it was horrible. Things went on with that guy that I despised and I hope never to meet him again. |
22 Oct 17 UTC | But indeed, glad that you can see it wasn't characteristic. |
22 Oct 17 UTC | Games go funny for all sorts of reasons. Barring personal abuse (directed wherever), I don't leap to conclusions quickly. Anyway... thanks for jumping in on this one, and I hope we get to participate in one with real clash again soon. If you'd like to invite me to one, newly started or otherwise, I'm happy to join. |
22 Oct 17 UTC | Cheers, you too. I did start one recently, called the Many Faced God - Known World, always a favourite :-) |
22 Oct 17 UTC | I joined. Thanks. It'll be my first time on that map. :-) |
22 Oct 17 UTC | Thanks for the good play |
