23 Nov 23 UTC Ha! I flatly cannot believe you guys let me stay in the draw. Joe, I owe you several for that one. I was waiting for the invasion after every turn, you’re a merciful one for sure. And hell the amount of mistakes I made is just ridiculous too. I can’t say I deserve it but yeah thanks all, and good game.

Also I generally like the map. I think the almoravids are essentially always guaranteed to be in the draw unless the perfect storm is concocted throughout the entire map, but perhaps in a full press game that would be different. Not throwing any shade your way though pink egg, you played very well (and my attack towards the end was more just to be a wild card) cheers
23 Nov 23 UTC Also happy thanksgiving hahaha
23 Nov 23 UTC Gg!

I think the Almoravids would have a really decent position even with 3 units. Also I think Granada is really weak, they always have to defend south, so whatever happens north is just out of their control - maybe army in Ceuta would do some balancing? And I was thinking the seas can get quite stalematy, so possibly sea lines could prevent that a little bit? Otherwise very fun map!
23 Nov 23 UTC Thanks guys! I agree with your analysis. My main concerns based on the different tests of the map I've observed are: Sevilla can get too powerful too quickly (although we didn't see that in this particular game), the Almoravids are too hard to destroy, and Granada is indeed too weak. I'm hoping the three issues can be somewhat solved by buffing Granada a little bit, countering its neighbors. The most likely next step will be swapping Málaga's fleet for an army and making the almoravids take a bit longer to reach Tremecén and Orán. We'll see if that doesn't break it. Thanks for playing and for your feedback!
15 Dec 23 UTC I changed the map I little bit (I have more ideas, but I think it's best to test changes one by one). If anyone wants to help me test it, I opened two more games (unranked this time, sorry about that), one with press and one gunboat:
