Interested in organising a game for folks interested in playing other big hitters. Not sure what the cut off should be, but would be good to get a mass of quality players interested and then we'll land on a general consensus if some aren't as big hitters as others.
You are one of the best here at vDip. While you're a bit behind the traditional cut off criteria it would be great (IMHO) for you to be part of the game.
I'm completely fine with not being dogmatic about vDip points. We're using it as a blunt tool to get some of the best players together in a game, and you're judgement on an individual's ability is going to supersede it in my opinion.
Though of course Leif can't win, or it'll tank the points of the people who do single-mindedly play for points ;)

@JECE, so do we still hold that world record on longest online public press classic game then from back during the 2012 WebDiplomacy World Cup? I haven’t kept track of that.
@Battalion, I’ll just make sure to 2-way draw with you. You just stab Russia first come autumn and I will follow suit… ;)
@Samj that 9x9 on Aberration was brutal. Only bozo and Shah soloed that series and I only managed to find my way into two of the seven draws while at least three others players managed to land in four draws each. I want a rematch, though I think a number of that crew aren’t active any more. :(
I care more about Rated WTA press WDL ratios. It’s too easy imo to points-farm (up to a certain point) on PPSC games (not that I am saying anyone here does that), so I don’t waste time chasing points as a metric of my gameplay.
Honestly there's been some inflation of rankings recently anyway, with players keeping an eye out for CDd positions because they know they don't loose rankings if they are elliminated, but stand to gain rankings if they survive/draw.

1. RL is busy for me at the moment and I won’t have time to properly set this up until mid December 2. The alternative is someone else steps up and based on what folks have said, organise the game before then.
RL is too busy for me too, otherwise I'd offer. In all honesty I don't think I'd even be able to play another big game right now, hoping that it soon settles down. I hope it does for you too, Amby.
Perhaps we can start the game and immediately extend a few times it as needed, to give everyone time to talk to everyone else? After everyone has had the initial time, the normal phase length should be long enough to maintain relations
I started this account so I could join in games set up by my school, but I didn't realize that I needed to model my username after specific formatting, so now I'm stuck with a username that doesn't fit the guidelines of the setup. does anyone know how one could go about changing their username on here?

[Speed Europa variant] moving from Burgundy to Ruhr should not be possible

As noticed by Tyran (user ID 2518) in the game "Wolf Pack v3" (game ID 58137) armies may move from Burgundy to Ruhr and vice versa (see the Map info tab of the variant's page) while the map doesn't say that. Maps on the external variant homepage also, so I suppose it is an error in the code, not the map.

Hey everybody. It was about time someone organised another cross platform Cold War tournament.

IMHO a really great new variant with many options, constantly fluctuating balances of power, both fleets and armies with power, sensible offboard movement that makes stalemates hard.
I've got some very good positions in a Europa Renovatio and a Colonial 1885 that I'd like to unload. Excellent opportunity for some shiny V points with no risk. PM me for details....
Going through an unexpectedly busy period at the moment and can't really pay full attention to all of my games.
