Not yet.. but some games have for me...

That'd be cool. I'm only in one and no games have finished in it, but I'm interested in the others.

Whatever the results, I won't feel too embarrassed considering the competition here. It's definitely interesting!

Thanks Doc... I feel better, being tied with RUFF is not a bad place to be. bozo is schooling us though!!! I will have to go through his orders after the game and try to learn something...

His secret is let Samj commit suicide and bring one or two other powers down with him and go in and sweep up the mess. Works every time!

Damn! Bozo has either solo'd or been part of the draw in every one of the completed Second Sengokus thus far! I think he is basically unbeatable unless someone does in the second half what he did in the first while keeping him out of it.

Oh, and Bozo, you're welcome. :-) I threw them both to you. Hahaha! I feel pretty good about my performance being in the final three in the two solo'd games (stuck between bozo and another aggressor who didn't know when to stop the solo) and part of a third draw.

Sigh, I wish I could be as perfect as Mapu... He doesn't know I am secretly trying to convince bozo to take me in as his apprentice, to teach me the dark side of the force! Lighten up! I assume you have never made bad choices in any games you've played? As others have commented, these are un-ranked games, maybe a time to try different tactics, different approaches, test theories, learn. I've lost games because an ally mis-ordered or worse, missed turns. But I don't call them out on it. Because its a game. Blame me for your own inability to solo if you want. I've got broad shoulders, I can take it.

Oh, and yes, later games have shown I learned from the first two... I've learned to pick up on subtle things more... That's why I joined the tourney, to get better. I know I have room for improvement. Can I get a group hug? I'm just feeling so abused! ;-)

I didn't call you out. I never mentioned your name nor linked to the games. I just pointed out how he got where he was. As far as my soloing, I was never a threat to solo, nor were you. But should I e lucky enough to be in an end nation in the position you were in, I will have the common sense to back off and not try the squeeze play. A one off game, fine, but twice in a tournament. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.

Nonetheless, I intentionally didn't mention you sir because it could have been anyne who forced me to give it to bozo. It's just amazing he was the lucky recipient both times. He is one talented cat. :-)

I was in no way referring to you Mr Truth. It was Mapu in the comment above yours... But yes, those two games were going simultaneously, so it wasn't really doing the same expecting different results, it was more having my a@@ handed to me in two games at once, showing me the error of my ways in both games. I definitely mellowed out after that. And I'm not saying I didn't screw up. I admitted it then, and I do now. I guess I was the only one to make mistakes in the tournament...

And we won't even start to talk about the FOW games... ugh! Got in way over my head.

Which FoW series are you in? I don't recall.

Good luck, you probably already eliminated me

I'm taking Dr. Recommended's approach and trying to *not* eliminate nations on my way. After all, 3 nations of 2 SCs in gunboat are easier to conquer three one nation of 6 SCs. Add in the fog preventing all three from seeing the oncoming storm or even what each other sees) and it becomes much easier. I've got several FoW draws and a solo (full press even gameID=24505) under my belt so I know I can do it. And in FoW, full press is even tougher to solo because people start talking when France and Germany both see your Turkish units on their rather expansive borders.

And, to be clear, I'm not talking about a specific game and probably lying out my ass about where I am in FoW1. :-)

Well, I've been playing poker almost as long as Diplomacy and making more money off poker. :-)

I think Oda is OP on Sengoku.

I think it's more that the board naturally splits into 3/2/3, with Oda having a slight advantage over Asakura so it shows up as the winner of that duel quite often, compared to the right trio that split glory between them, and the left trio that results in 2 survivors as much as 1.

Oda don't seems necessarily more likely to win from that 3-4 player position (and in fact they're generally in the worst position from there, surrounded on all sides), but they're a lot more likely to make it to that stage than others.

First Sengoku Tournament games 5-8 have been paused for sorting for maybe a week now. I noticed someone has put in orders for one of the games. Will they have to be re-created?

Generally, if they get put back to Hold, they still show the checkmark, but no harm is done. Only if someone types into their notes box is there a real issue.
