Austria is stuck between teammate Germany and RIT. Argentina is stuck behind Colombia-Brazil. That placement immediately forces two wars involving four teams. It just seems a little too predestined for a game of Diplomacy.

In defense of my variant, it’s not like Italy and Colombia are utterly doomed. There have been games they’ve done very well! Besides, the team structure can develop in many different ways, since every team member borders at least two other teams not counting their own. My selection principle was to leave open as many alliance possibilities as possible.

Gotcha. Well, I'll join yours if more people end up liking it in the interest of just getting a team game started

I think I'm a little confused about where this is going now...Is Mitomon's game not what we were going for anyhow (with difference of win condition...?)?

The question is whether Mitomon's teams are fair enough or balanced.

erikip I'm not sure everyone on the list would have picked the same team assignments I did, but I figured it would be better to just go ahead and post that to increase the odds of getting an actual game going. You can sign up in Will's thread if you're fine with it
