Yes, Taiwan is part of the Republic of China which also is the rightful government of the entirety of the former Qing Empire.

Taiwan is a part of China.Now it is a part of PRC,and the ROC is the history from 1912-1949.

Come on, we come to this site to play games instead of performing political correctness. We all know that the Chinese navy is stronger than all other countries in the variant combined, but this can only ruin the game. For the same reason, and since we have to admit that making Taiwan Chinese will make China way too overpowered in the game, we don't do it. The famous "Cold War" variant isn't counting even Alaska as part of NATO, so is that separatism too? It's just not about politics at all from the very start, and this is not even place for talking about these things. If you fail to simply enjoy the game you should go to somewhere you can find yourself more comfortable in.

Also, China may have to put an end to her civil war like USA, and we can protect the political neutrality like Switzerland when it's needed. I'm new to this site but I've heard about Western Asian variants got bombarded by star and crescent. Yet we're still doing them, to have more fun. We shall play these variants on the beaches.

Yes, this is all part of a game...not focused on implying anything "real" other than geography (for most maps). Not geopolitics! There's at least one map where the US is split into multiple individual powers (not the civil war ones) and I'd be shocked if there was intended to be any implication by...Illinois being its own power lol. Not for or against, because it literally doesn't matter in this context. It's a game.

I expected something like this when I created the variant. I mean it's based on modern geopolitics and all about territory claim disputes, so it was bound to ruffle some feathers. I kind of expected people to complain that the Paracel or Spratly islands are rightful land of so-and-so country.

The complaints about Taiwan being a power are funny. Yes, Taiwan is a part of China. But the start date of the variant is 2000. At this time, and today. Taiwan and mainland China operate as separate states (PRC and ROC) with separate governments and separate militaries. They also have de facto control of different parts of the South China Sea islands.
